Egypt, Retold
More than a catalogue: a working archive of modern Egyptian art.
Egypt, Retold brings together around 2,500 books, exhibition catalogues, magazines, press clippings, photographs and documents that record modern Egyptian art and the society around it.
Each item is scanned, given a permanent reference number and catalogued in English and Arabic, with its original title kept as printed. Many items can be read in full online; for others you see a preview chosen by the team and can request access. Files are not handed out by default, so the material is used with attribution.
The archive grows as scanning continues. Corrections and additional information from researchers are welcome.
